“We Will Rise” – The Story of the Apalachee High School Shooting
*winner of 2025 NATAS Southeast Emmy
“We Will Rise” is a feature documentary produced by a group of 20 senior journalism students in the aftermath of the 2024 Apalachee High School shooting. As the Executive Producer of the documentary, I led our team of reporters and producers to produce this award-winning documentary detailing the response to the shooting in Barrow County and throughout the state of Georgia.
Social and vertical video
I created these Instagram Reels for @NCAAIceHockey while covering the outdoor college hockey games at Penn State’s Beaver Stadium in Jan. 2026. Over the course of two days, I captured creator-style content for Reels, X and Facebook, as well as a live blog of the game on NCAA.com.
My content totaled over 804k impressions and 38k engagements (4.7% engagement rate) throughout the weekend across all platforms
Digital Video
As NCAA.com’s college hockey beat reporter, I create videos for our site and YouTube platforms. These videos have a more conversational tone for the web audience.
Broadcast-style packages
Below are examples of traditional news packages I produced in college.
Digital stories
From live blogging college sports on NCAA.com, to in-depth election reporting for Grady Newsource, I have experience covering a wide variety of topics in engaging digital formats. Take a look at some examples of my work below.
Live sports broadcasting
While I was a student at Georgia, I founded the UGA Hockey broadcasting crew to help journalism and sports media students get experience doing live sports broadcasts outside of the classroom.
As the executive producer of broadcasting, my duties included doing play-by-play commentary, creating livestream graphics, producing live broadcasts and editing highlight packages.
Over three years, we grew from a two-man crew to a group of 12 student volunteers producing high-quality livestreams with up to 200 concurrent viewers and 2,000+ views on each of our streams.
Below is an example of a pregame show where I produced pregame graphics and interviews, as well as hosted the game preview in the booth.
